Melanie is a Utah transplant and the newest member of the Canyon family. She and her family fell in love with Utah and decided to settle after a decade of international roaming.

She joined Canyon Transportation in 2014.

She spends any minute available enjoying and sharing Utah outdoor adventures with friends and family.

Norm Slauenwhite

Norm Slauenwhite is the founder and current COO of Canyon Transportation. He moved to Utah from Chicago where he attended school and worked in the food service industry.

His first job in Utah was with Snowbird Resort where he lived and worked in the ski industry. While working at Snowbird as the head bellman for one of their hotels he saw a need for a customer-focused reliable 4×4 transportation system into Little Cottonwood Canyon. As part of this he pioneered the shared-ride service into the Cottonwood Canyons and the Wasatch Range.

Norm is an active outdoor enthusiast, supports Ski Utah and the Utah tourism industry. He enjoys skiing and being outdoors in Utah.

Dallas Allen
Dallas AllenOperations Manager
Dallas Allen is our hands-on, dedicated operations manager. He is one of the oldest and longest term members of the team (25 years) and has performed almost every role in the business.

Born and raised in central Utah, married to his wife Kathy for 38 years, they have 3 sons. He enjoys time with his five grand daughters.

Camping, fishing, hunting and ATV are his favorite pastimes.

Dallas always looks forward to helping you with your upcoming trips to our beautiful state to ski, bike or hike.

Rita Guzman

Rita Guzman is Canyon Transportation’s detail-oriented finance manager.

Rita was born in the Dominican Republic and retains close ties to her family and culture.

She first came to Utah in 1991 to ski with her family. As her love and attraction to the mountains and ski grew, she decided to make the big move to Utah in 1997 and immediately started working at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort in the accounting department where she stayed for over 6 years.

She joined Canyon Transportation in 2003 with a great skillset and a passion for her work and the ski industry.

She loves to ski and hike in the mountains of Utah.

Dan Shotwell
Dan Shotwell
Dan Shotwell is our down-to-earth do-it-all back office hero. He does the billing, is involved in pricing and is the go-to person for anything regarding our reservation system and other IT-related needs.

Dan moved from California for longer and better ski seasons. He once was a driver and a dispatcher for Canyon Transportation.

On his personal time, Dan plays (hard) hockey and introduces his two young boys to the joys of outdoor playing in Utah.

Patricia Ervin

Patricia Ervin holds the logistical core of Canyon Transportation as the supervisor of the dispatch and reservation team.

She grew up in a small town in northern California, visited Utah with her family and fell in love with the beautiful mountain scenery. They made the official move to Utah 11 years ago.

She joined the Canyon Transportation team 8 years ago as a reservationist. Being a quick learner and a natural leader, she soon started training others and took on a dispatcher role.

Each year she is excited to train and supervise our new and returning dispatch and reservation team members. Hearing from our fantastic customers about their exciting upcoming vacations is one of the highlights of her job.

Mandie Lopez

Mandie Lopez is the strong-handed enthusiatic supervisor who holds sway over the restlessness of Canyon’s airport and Cliff Lodge desks.

She is a hedonistic leader whose self-gratification comes from customer satisfaction. Mandie has been with Canyon Transportation for 20 years and counting. She can honestly say “I love my job! I love the passion it is driven by.”

Mandie enjoys the Utah summer great outdoors with her family and always looks forward to the hectic, yet satisfying, winter with her Canyon family.
